EST 1997
POINT was established in 1997 following a community survey by the local Civic Society, which highlighted a lack of safe spaces and supportive services for young people. This gap was contributing to a rise in anti-social behaviour, and in response, a group of local residents came together to create POINT. These founding members became our first Trustees, united by a shared commitment to providing young people with a safe, positive place to belong. POINT officially opened its doors to young people in 2001.
Today, POINT is a youth drop-in centre based in rural Fishguard, serving young people across Pembrokeshire. We are a completely free service, open 50 weeks of the year and offer a bespoke service that adapts to the ever-changing needs, interests, and aspirations of young people aged 10–25.

OPENING DOORS TO OPPORTUNITIES
Our work focuses on supporting both emotional and physical wellbeing, while opening doors to opportunities that young people can carry with them into adulthood. We aim to create an environment where young people can thrive, build confidence, develop pride in themselves, and feel connected to their community.
POINT provides a safe, warm, and welcoming space where young people can spend time with friends, seek support, gain accreditations, take part in trips, enjoy sporting activities, and—most importantly—have fun. We encourage young people to be themselves in a non-judgemental environment and, when they are ready, to recognise and realise their own individual potential.
Our drop-in centre is delivered by a team of four qualified youth workers who use a trauma-informed, inclusive approach in all aspects of their work. They are supported by a General Manager and Finance Officer, ensuring the organisation runs smoothly, and by a dedicated Board of Trustees who provide governance, guidance, and long-term vision.
